A review of world Diallactiini (Diptera, Cecidomyiidae, Winnertziinae), with the description of six new genera and seventeen new species Author Jaschhof, Mathias text Zootaxa 2016 4127 2 201 244 journal article 38748 10.11646/zootaxa.4127.2.1 55d0500c-80bd-4fa2-8ea1-39c0f251edb9 1175-5326 267022 B2590AFB-62BF-4D53-98E9-3358AB616413 Genus Loboplusia Jaschhof gen. nov. Type species, zurqui sp. nov. , here designated. This new genus is introduced to absorb an unusual diallactiine from Costa Rica , which has the Haplusia type of wing venation ( Fig. 15D ), but is otherwise completely different from other Diallactiini , including Haplusia . Diagnosis. Loboplusia is the only genus of Winnertziinae, including Diallactiini , whose scutum has a bright membranous window anterior of the scutellum (= prescutellar window, ↓, Fig. 15C ). Setae on the legs, especially the tarsi, are fringed ( Fig. 15E ), a condition I have not noticed in any other mycophagous cecidomyiids. Male genitalia are remarkable for the gonostylus consisting of two lobes (↓, Fig. 15A ), and for the gonocoxae whose ventrobasal bridge is extremely short (↓, Fig. 15A ). The ovipositor of Loboplusia is more compact ( Fig. 16A ) than that of any other diallactiine I have seen. Etymology. The generic name is composed of Lobo -, from the Latin word lobus for lobe, with reference to the bilobed gonostyli, and the ending - plusia , from Haplusia , a genus with which Loboplusia shares similar venation. Gender of the name is feminine.
