Ecology:— Locally common; terrestrial in humid forests, usually along rivers and streams or in swampy places, in humid habitats; also a pioneer after disturbance ( Urquhart 2009 ); to 700(–1400) m; during dry spells, the pinnae may abscise, leaving bare rachises.
