The genus Demotispa has been a catch­all genus for species belonging in Aslamidium Borowiec , Cephaloleia Chevrolat , Parimatidium Spaeth , and Stilpnaspis Weise. This species is congeneric with Aslamidium . New records Panama , Bocas del Toro Prov., 750m , 8°49N ; 83°12’W , 7 June 1997 , D.M. Windsor , from Calathea sp. (STRI, 3) ; Panama , Bocas del Toro Prov., Rio Teribe , Wekso St. ; 9°23N; 82°39W, 22­I­2000 , D.M. Windsor (STRI, 2) . Distribution Costa Rica , Nicaragua , Panama .
