Neopomphale erecta
sp. n.
(figure 50)
Diagnosis
Setae on flagellomeres confined to a basal whorl and ± erect (figure 50); fore wing with basal one-third infuscate and with a small speculum (as in
rubescens
(figure 60)); head transverse, 0.7× as high as wide; eyes small, ratio HE/MS=1.4.
Male
(length of body=
0.6 mm
)
Colour.
Scape whitish; flagellum whitish in
holotype
, dark brown in
paratype
; pedicel pale brown. Frons and vertex dark with golden tinges. Occiput dark.
Mesosoma
dark and shiny. Coxae and femora dark and shiny; tibiae and tarsi whitish. Fore wing with basal one-third strongly infuscate, remaining two-thirds hyaline. Gaster dark with golden tinges, membranes whitish.
Head.
Antenna as in figure 50. HE/
MS
/MO: 2.1/1.0/1.2. Frons with weak reticulation, meshes transverse. Vertex with strong reticulation, meshes transverse. Posterior ocelli situated at occipital margin; POL/
OOL
:
2.9/1.0. Occipital margin rounded; occiput poorly visible on
type
specimen.
WH
/WT=1.0.
Mesosoma
.
Mesoscutum flattened, 0.5× as long as wide, with weak and engraved reticulation, anterior one-half with ± isodiametric meshes, posterior onehalf with elongate meshes; with one pair of setae situated close to anterior margin. Scutellum flat, 0.6× as long as wide, with weak and engraved reticulation, meshes ± elongate, lateral and posterior margins smooth and shiny; scutellar setae situated about in the middle, ratio distances to anterior margin of scutellum/posterior margin of scutellum=0.9. Axilla advanced its entire length in front of scuto-scutellar sulcus. TPS strongly curved. Fore wing speculum very small and closed below; LW/LM/HW: 2.0/1.0/1.1; postmarginal vein absent. Propodeum smooth and shiny; propodeal callus with two setae.

Remarks
The transverse head of
erecta
(known only in the male sex) is similar to the one found in
transversa
(known only in the female sex). However,
erecta
and
transversa
are not conspecific, e.g. the fore wing is different:
erecta
with basal one-third strongly infuscate and speculum very small (almost absent);
transversa
with an infuscate stripe below middle of marginal vein and with distinct speculum.
