Body orange or yellowish. Head with blackish-orange round patch at transition to face. Eyes and basal triangles blackish. Fore wing brown.

Male genitalia:
Pygofer with single macroseta at cephalo-ventral angle of lobe (
Fig. 13a
), apex of dorsal appendage bifurcated, upper tooth much broader than lower one (
Fig. 13b
). Style with apical tooth longer but thinner than subapical tooth, apex of subapical tooth truncate, area between two teeth slightly serrated (
Figs 13c, d
). Aedeagal shaft with paired apical processes short; preatrial process surpassing gonopore, single side of apex serrated; gonopore near middle (
Figs 13f, g
).

Remarks:
This new species is similar to
A. fusina
sp. nov.
but can be distinguished by the broader upper tooth of the pygofer dorsal appendage, truncate style subapical tooth and the single serrated side of preatrial process apex.
Etymology:
The specific epithet is derived from the Latin word “
planus
”, referring to the truncate apex of style subapical tooth.
