The species occurs at depths between 1,5 to 40 m , in funds rocky with anemone, macroalgae, actinarians, corals, scyphozoan, and also in sandy bottoms with sparse vegetation ( Chace, 1958 ; Criales, 1984 ; Martinez-Iglesias, 1986 ; Wirtz et al ., 2009 ). Ancylomenes pedersoni is know for its cleaning activity of some species of fish ( Johnson & Ruben, 1988 ; Okuno & Bruce, 2010 ). Limbaugh et al . (1961) noted that fish have gill and oral cavities clean activity was completed at the time the shrimp is satisfied, no matter the amount of fish that await cleaning.
