DISTRIBUTION . — This most cultivated passion fruit, of unknown origin, was introduced for cultivation and may escape elsewhere in anthropized landscapes. NOTE The purple-fruited form ( P. edulis f. edulis ), adapted to subtropical climates or higher elevations, has not been observed in French Guiana .
