Amritodus mudigerensis Viraktamath 1976: 235–236 , figs 6–14. Busoniomimus mudigerensis (Viraktamath) : Viraktamath & Murphy 1981: 87 . Diagnosis . Two round spots on fore margin of head, a large spot on frontoclypeus, a series of small spots in transverse row on anterior submargin of pronotum, basal triangles on exposed mesonotum, two round spots on mesoscutellum, black. Aedeagus with shaft pustulate and constricted at base on ventral surface, dorsal apodeme well-developed, preatrium absent. Female sternite VII abruptly narrowed at proximal 0.33 length with straight posterior margin ( Fig. 60O ). Valvula II with very small widely spaced teeth ( Figs 65 CD). Material examined . Several specimens from Karnataka (Anekal, Bannerghatta, Channapatna, Doddaballapur, Mahadeshwara Malai Hills, Mudigere, Vijipura) collected during the months of March, May, June, July November and December (UASB). Remarks . Viraktamath (1976) adequately described the species and also figured the male genitalia. This species differs from B. manjunathi in facial and pronotal coloration in addition to aedeagal shaft without basal processes, preatrium absent and the shaft constricted at base. This species breeds on Buchanania angustifolia Roxb. ( Anacardiaceae ). Venkatesh et al. (2022) considered it as a pest of Buchanania lanzan Spreng. ( Anacardiaceae ) on which it breeds extensively in Jhansi ( Uttar Pradesh , India ).
