Description.
Body length
4.4–5.4 mm
; forebody length
2.6–2.7 mm
.
Body (
Fig. 34
) dark brown; antennae and legs yellowish brown.
Head as long as wide; punctation moderately dense and coarse, non-umbilicate, interstices without microsculpture; postocular portion 1.72 times as long as eye length.
Pronotum 1.19 times as long as wide, 0.89 times as broad and as 1.04 times long as head; punctation as dense and slightly coarser than that of head; midline posteriorly with short and very narrow impunctate elevation; interstices without microsculpture. Elytra 0.69 times as long as wide, 0.60 times as long and 1.04 times as broad as pronotum; punctation as dense and less coarse than that of pronotum; interstices without microsculpture.
Abdomen with punctation dense and coarse on tergites III and IV, dense and less coarse on tergite V, moderately dense and fine on tergites VI–VIII; interstices with fine microsculpture on apical half of tergites VII and VIII.
Male
. Sternite VII (
Fig. 35
) with posterior margin slightly convex at middle. Sternite VIII (
Fig. 36
) with Vshaped posterior excision. Aedeagus (
Figs. 37–39
) with ventral process gradually narrowed apicad in ventral view; dorso-lateral apophyses slender, constricted in the middle and slightly curved in ventral view, extending beyond apex of ventral process.
Distribution and habitat data.
The species is known only from Dapanshan Shan in middle
Zhejiang
. The specimens were collected by sifting leaf litter at altitude of
530–1200 m
.
Comparative notes.
The new species is similar to
N. niutoushanus
Hu, Li & Zhao,
2011
in general appearance and aedeagal characters, but can be separated by abdominal tergites IV–VI lacking microsculpture, and by smaller apex of dorso-lateral apophyses of the aedeagus (
Figs. 37–39
).
Etymology.
The species is named in honor of Su-Jiong Zhang (Administration of Dapanshan National Nature Reserve) who helped a lot during our collecting in
Zhejiang
.
