Comments.
Species of
Anagyrus
in
Argentina
and the entire Neotropical region can be recognized using the key in
Noyes (1980)
. Later,
Noyes (2000)
provided a useful key to females of the genera in the subfamily
Tetracneminae
occurring in
Costa Rica
and a key to Costa Rican species of
Anagyrus
. The key below includes 14 species of
Anagyrus
known so far from
Argentina
and also, for convenience only,
A. porteri
(Brèthes)
from
Chile
. The previous such key by
De
Santis (1964)
included only six species;
De
Santis (1964
,
1972
) also had described several species in other genera which were later justifiably synonymized under
Anagyrus
by
Noyes (1979
,
1980
,
2000
).
All known species of
Anagyrus
in
Argentina
seem to be native with the exception of
A. pseudococci
(Girault)
s. str.
, which was likely unintentionally introduced with grape seedlings from
Italy
(
Triapitsyn
et al.
2007
).
