Acanthoderes ( Acanthoderes ) giesberti ; Monné, 2020: 232 (cat.); Bezark, 2020b: 234 (checklist). According to Chemsak & Hovore (2002) , A . ( A .) giesberti may be distinguished from A . ramirezi Chemsak & Hovore, 2002 , and A . quadrigibba (Say, 1831) (currently, Aegomorphus quadrigibbus ) by the more robust form, strongly elevated subsutural elytral costae, and much more strongly pronounced pronotal sculpturation and tubercles; from A . albifrons Chemsak & Hovore, 2002 , by the mottled brown and gray pubescence of the front, more strongly produced pronotal tubercles, and longer antennae. The female specimen from Mexico agrees well with the holotype deposited at EMEC. This species is only known from Baja Verapaz , Guatemala . Therefore its geographical distribution is extended to Oaxaca , Mexico .
