NHMUK ) . Diagnosis . Length of forewing is 11–12 mm in males and 13–14 mm in females. The species differs clearly from other members of the B. cardinalisanomala 'species-complex' in the paler ground colour of forewing, the basally broader longitudinal blackish strip, presence of the strong blackish suffusion on forewing veins, and dark brown forewing cilia ( Figs. 7–9 ). The male genitalia ( Fig. 28 ) are characterized by the large rounded distal lobe of valva, presence of the small claw-like medial costal process, the small trigonal distal costal process directed dorsally, the robust, long, dorsally curved and apically pointed distal saccular process well separated from the distal section of valva, and presence of fields of small and more or less spine-like cornuti in the vesica; the female genitalia ( Fig. 40 ) differ clearly from other species in the large, ovoid, weakly sclerotized corpus bursae with a weak rugose sclerotization posteriorly and without any signa, scobination or granulation.
