Remarks.
Molecular analysis revealed different color patterns observed in individuals of
C. tibicen
were to be intraspecific variation (
Mandai
et al.
2018a
). In addition, a recent phylogeographic study (
Mandai
et al.
2018b
) showed that its extensive western Atlantic distribution has a hiatus in the Amazon Delta (Brazilian states of
Pará
and
Amapá
). Indeed, genetic structure was detected, defining two distinct groups (North and South Atlantic Ocean), with no morphological distinction. Sequences accession numbers (GenBank): CCDB 769—16S (
