Palps not more than 4 times longer than wide. Antero-lateral setae numerous (30–86 pairs). Setae dm1 filiform. Setae dm3 absent. All peripheral setae apically expanded and arranged in 1 row. One pair of genital setae g1 present. Pseudanal series represented by 1 or 5 pairs of paddle-shaped setae ps . Included species. Pterygosoma phillipsi Jack, 1962 and Pterygosoma singularis Jack, 1961 . Distribution. These species are known only from the eastern part of the Afrotropic ecozone. Host range. The mites are associated with lizards of the genus Acanthocercus and Agama (Agamidae) .
