The species has been reported from the Antilles, Bolivia , Brazil , Colombia , Costa Rica , Ecuador , French Guiana , Guyana , Panama , Paraguay , Peru , Surinam , the Neotropical region and South America ( Metcalf 1963a ; Duffels and van der Laan 1985 ; Boulard 1998 ; Salazar Escobar 2005 ). Some of these records are probably references to a number of related species described by Boulard and Martinelli (1996) . The species has been recorded from Bogotà ( Distant 1881a ; Jacobi 1907 ), Caldas , Salamina, Tolima , Bosque de Mariquita, and Putomayo and Pto Leguízamo-Río Caucayá ( Salazar Escobar 2005 ) in Colombia .
