Vespert. Brasil .: 23 . Type Locality: Brazil , Rio Solimões, Tabatinga. Vernacular Names: Coppery Titi . Synonyms: Callicebus (Callicebus) acreanus Vieira 1952 ; Callicebus (Callicebus) egeria Thomas 1908 ; Callicebus (Callicebus) toppinii Thomas 1914 . Distribution: South of the Amazon from Rio Purús to Rio Ucayali, Brazil and Peru ; probably Bolivia . Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Lower Risk (lc). Discussion: Subgenus Callicebus . C. cupreus species group. Includes caligata , discolor and dubius according to Groves (1992 , 2001 c ), who argued that, if the distributions are sympatric, as mapped by Hershkovitz (1990), then all these are likely to be colour morphs; but according to van Roosmalen et al. (2002) , the distributions given by Hershkovitz are incorrect, and they are vicariant and hence represent differentiated taxa.
