This is a montane species with a disjunct distribution area: in Europe only in the Alps and Carpathians, but in the vast East Asian area from the Saur Mts. in south-eastern
Kazakhstan
through southern Siberia (Altai, Sajan Mts., Tuva, Transbaikalia and Dahuria), northern
Mongolia
and
China
(Shanxi) to the Magadan region in the north-east. It was recorded for
Mongolia
as
E. kaszabi
Vojnits.
Mongolia
