French Guiana , Surinam , Colombia to Peru , Bolivia , Brazil , Uruguay , and northern Argentina . In Brazil it occurs in the states of Bahia , Ceará , Espírito Santo , Goiás , Minas Gerais , Mato Grosso , Mato Grosso do Sul , Paraíba , Pernambuco , Piauí , Paraná , Rio de Janeiro , Santa Catarina , São Paulo , and Tocantins and in the Distrito Federal ( Nunes et al . 2005 ; Peracchi et al . 2006 ). Habitat. Inhabits various types of habitats as forests, open areas, human environments, roosting in a variety of places such as rolled leaf of trees, caves, and human buildings ( Reis et al . 2007 ). This species was captured in almost all habitat types sampled ( 14 o 30’ 25.4” S , 46 o 43’ 51.5” W and 14 o 30’ 21.09” S , 46 o 45’ 29.37” W in Alvorada do Norte , GO ; 13°46’ 15.1” S , 46° 37’ 29.2” W in São Domingos, GO ; and 12° 54’ 50.8” S , 47° 34’ 0.7” W in Paranã , TO), but the “veredas” and seasonally dry tropical forests . Voucher specimens. 11 females – CHUNB 1168 , 1188 , 1197 , 1206 , 1207 , 1208 , 1216 , 1259 , 1260 , 1269 , and 1291 ; 7 males – CHUNB 1210 , 1267 , 1268 , 1279 , 1280 , 1284 , and 1285 .
