( Figs. 61–62 , Map 5) Tachyusa ( s. str. ) capicola Cameron , 1944: 718 . Type material . Lectotype (here designated): ɗ: South Africa [ Republic of South Africa ], Simon's Town, IV– VI.1915 , T. capicola Cam. Type ( BMNH ). Paralectotype : ɗ: same data as lectotype ( BMNH ). Redescription. Body. Length 2.5–2.7 mm , convex, parallelsided, glossy; body colour pitchy brown to black; antennae brown with antennomere 11 red, legs brown. Head circular in outline, convex; eyes relatively large, moderately protruding from lateral contours of head, length of each seen from above subequal to that of postocular region; surface of head without microsculpture; puncturation fine and dense. Antennae long, extending to 1/2 of elytra, slightly increasing in width apically, antennomeres 2 and 3 subequal in length, antennomeres 4–8 longer than wide, antennomeres 9–10 as long as wide, antennomere 11 nearly coniform. Pronotum quadrate, convex, lateral sides sinuately narrowed to obtuse hind angles; before base with wide and deep transverse impression; surface without microsculpture; puncturation relatively fine and dense; pubescence at midline directed posteriorly in apical half and anteriorly in basal half. FIGURES 61–62. Ischnopoderona capicola (Cameron) : 61—aedeagus in lateral view, 62—aedeagus in ventral view. Elytra subquadrate, at suture slightly shorter than pronotal length at midline; surface without microsculpture; puncturation minute, pinpricklike and relatively sparse, much finer and sparser than that on pronotum. Abdomen widened posteriorly, bases of tergites III–V each with deep transverse impression, impressions coarsely and densely punctate; tergal puncturation fine and relatively dense; surface without microsculpture. Male. Aedeagus as in Figs. 61–62 . Female unknown. Remarks . Ischnopoderona capicola is very similar to I. sinuata , from which it can be distinguished by the fine pronotal puncturation (coarse in I. sinuata ), the antennomere 10 as long as wide (antennomere 10 longer than wide in I. sinuata ), the abdominal basal transverse impression on tergite V distinctly and coarsely punctate (smooth, impuntuate in I. sinuata ) and by the shape of the aedeagus. Distribution . Republic of South Africa (Map 5). Ischnopoderona sinuata Pa ś nik, sp. n. ( Figs. 63–65 , Map 5) Type material . Holotype : ɗ: Namibia , 18 ml. SW Otavi, at light, 6.IV.1972 ( BMNH ). Paratypes : Ψ: same data as holotype ( BMNH ); Ψ: Angola , Rocadas, Cunene river, in mud and litter by pools, 19–22.II.1972 ( BMNH ); Ψ: Angola , Rocadas, Cunene river, in mud and litter by pools, 19–22.II.1972 ( ISEA ). Description. Body. Length 2.8–2.9 mm , convex, parallelsided, glossy; body colour brown; elytra reddishbrown, abdomen black with tergites III–IV brownishred, antennae brown with antennomere 11 yellow, legs brown with yellow tarsi. Head circular in outline, convex; eyes large, moderately protruding from lateral contours of head, length of each seen from above subequal to that of postocular region; surface of head without microsculpture; puncturation fine and dense. Antennae very long, extending to 3/4 of elytra, slightly increasing in width apically, antennomeres 2 and 3 subequal in length, antennomeres 4–10 longer than wide, decreasing in length, antennomere 11 nearly coniform. Pronotum quadrate, convex, lateral sides sinuately narrowed to obtuse hind angles; before base with relatively large transverse impression; surface without microsculpture; puncturation relatively coarse and dense; pubescence at midline directed posteriorly in apical half and anteriorly in basal half. Elytra subquadrate, at suture slightly shorter than pronotal length at midline; surface without microsculpture; puncturation minute, pinpricklike and relatively sparse. Abdomen widened posteriorly, bases of tergites III–V each with deep transverse impression, first two impressions coarsely punctate, third impression smooth, impunctate; tergal puncturation minute, pinpricklike and relatively dense; surface without microsculpture. Male. Aedeagus as in Figs. 63–64 . Female. Spermatheca as in Fig. 65 . Remarks . See remarks under I. capicola . Etymology . The name sinuata refers to the strongly sinuate pronotal lateral sides. Distribution . Angola , Namibia (Map 5).
