Regional records : Previously reported from Sa’udi Arabia ( Holthuis, 1952 ), Koweit ( Kemp, 1922 ), Aden ( Bruce, 1971 ). General distribution : Type locality: Red Sea. Ranges from the Red Sea to the Philippines , Marshall Islands and Great Barrier Reef. Remarks : The specimens present no special features. It is suggested in Chace & Bruce (1993) that this species and K. grandis ( Stimpson, 1860 ) may be junior synonyms. The situation is still in need of clarification.
