Distribution and habitat. Distribution in Afghanistan : Harirud, Murgab, Panj and Kunduz rivers.—General distribution:Middle East, South Asia:Hari-rud River basin ( Turkmenistan , Afghanistan and Iran ).—Habitat:This species inhabits rivers, lakes, reservoirs, ponds and ditches with stagnant or slow-flowing water. Freshwater. Economic importance. Locally consumed, but of no commercial importance. Conservation. Conservation status in Afghanistan : Unknown.—IUCN: NE (2023).—Threats: Unknown.—Low sensitivity to human activities.—Not considered as a keystone species.—Decline status: Unknown.—Low priority for conservation action.
