Luna and Catalina Romero leg; in varzea forest under tree bark. The specimen was part of an unpublished study on
Pseudoscorpiones
of the National Natural Park el Tuparro conducted by the collectors.
Geogarypus
is a widely distributed genus and
G. amazonicus
has only been recorded from the Brazilian Amazon. The specimen was collected in the Orinoco region and represents a range extension of distribution about
1300 km
in a different ecosystem.
