Moench (= Hibiscus esculentus L.) Names. Myanmar : yonbade . English : lady's finger, wild okra. Range. Tropical Asia. Cultivated in Myanmar. Uses. Fruit : Used as stomachic and emollient. Notes. In India the root is used in a decoction for impotency ( Jain and DeFilipps 1991 ). Indigenous medicinal uses of this species in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (India) are described by Dagar and Singh (1999) . Perry (1980) discusses the medicinal uses of the species in China, Indo-China, and the Philippines.
