C 02 - 293”. Current status: Synonym of Conognatha ( Pithiscus ) macleayi (Donovan, 1825) ( Moore & Lander 2010 ) . Comments: The original publication indicates that the type material of this species is from “Brasilia; ad serra da Lapa un provincial Minas Geraës a D. Ménétriés lecta”. The lectotype housed at the MZHF is labelled as “Brasilia. Min. Geraës” ( Ménétriés leg.). Rothkirch (1912) listed Conognatha carinata (Mannerheim) and C. vulnerata (Perty) as synonyms of C. macleayi (Donovan) . C. vulnerata was revalidated, including C. carinata as its junior synonym by Hoscheck (1934) . C. vulnerata (including its synonym C. carinata ) was synonymized under C. macleayi by Moore & Lander (2010) .
