Yunnan , between Dali and Heqing, Koua-la-po, 2500 m , 24 Jully 1884, Delavay n.31 ( syntypes : not located) = Parnassia mairei Léveillé (1913: 282) TYPE :— CHINA . Yunnan , plateau herbeux de Je-ma-tchouan, 3200 m , August 1912 , E . E . Maire s.n. ( holotype : E 00275517) Notes: Three collections ( Delavay 217 , Delavay s.n. and Delavay Parnassia n.2 .) were indicated in the protologue. Five duplicates of Delavay 217 were traced from P , a complete and well-presented specimen ( P 00709352) is selected as the lectotype . Although no collection number was given for the syntype Delavay s.n. , its details were cited as ‘ in faucibus Lan-ho, ad basin montis Yang-in-chan, prope Langkong; fl. 7 aug. 1883 (Delavay) ’. Three specimens that match all these descriptions were found, which were labeled as Delavay 130 , and thus, we treated them as syntypes . For the syntype Delavay Parnassia n.2 , the protologue had no details, except that it was collected from ‘ Dali, Lankong, Kua-la-po ’. Seven sheets labeled Delavay Parnassia n.2 were traced from P . Two sheets ( P 05556377 and P 06392701) were collected from Dali, Eryuan, Mo-so-yin, and one ( P 05556379) from Tchuo-cheou; therefore, these are not the syntypes . Two sheets ( P 06392700 and P 05556388) collected from Eryuan in July 1883 and one ( P 05556378) from Dali on 4 July 1882 are determined as P. wightiana , so they are also not the syntypes of P. delavayi . Only the remaining specimen ( P 06392622) from Dali, collected in July 1882 , was determined as P. delavayi , is possibly one of the syntypes of this name.
