This species occurs from the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in south-central Alberta to the Kootenay River drainage in southeastern British Columbia (Lindroth 1966: 463), south to the Sierra Nevada in California (Fall 1901a: 45; Papp 1978: 167), northern Arizona (Apache and Coconino Counties, CNC), and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in New Mexico (Fall and Cockerell 1907: 158; Casey, 1913: 111, as Pterostichus zunianus ).
