Natural history.
In SK, specimens were captured in willow, aspen, and hawthorn litter near creek, and under bark. In New Brunswick, adults were captured in moist leaf litter on the margin of a vernal pond in a mixed forest, among leaves and sedges on pond margin, in moist grass litter and sphagnum in
Carex
marsh, among sedges along margin of small spring-fed brook in a mature hardwood forest and among leaf litter and grass on hummocks in a wet alder (
Alnus
sp.) swamp (
Webster et al. 2009
). In Nova Scotia, this species was reported from litter of
Alnus
clumps (
Klimaszewski et al. 2006
). A number of adults were collected with a net during late afternoon (15:00 to 18:00 h) flights (
Webster et al. 2009
). Adults were captured from April to July, and in October. Collection method: sifting leaf litter, some collected in flight with net during evening.
