This species occurs in lower elevations of South Africa and Mozambique , close to the coast of the Indian Ocean. Some males have been attracted in the late morning hours using artificial pheromones. Zhang (1994) mentions sweet potato ( Ipomoea batatas ) as hostplant of this species as well.
