The specimen figured in Kiener (10 pouces, or 27 cm ) is much larger than the stated size of Lamarck’s specimen (3 pouces 11 lignes = 103 mm ). No locality is given on the label. Remarks: According to Rosalie de Lamarck, her father’s collection contained a single specimen. Current taxonomic position and synonymy: Syrinx aruanus ( Röding, 1798 ) ; placed in synonymy with Syrinx aruanus [ Turbinellidae ] by Mørch (1852) : 101. Locality is Australia .
