Pseudacroclita mastoidea Zhang , sp. nov. ( Figs. 2, 4 ) Diagnosis. This species can be easily differentiated from all other species of Pseudacroclita by the nearly semicircular cucullus and the presence of two non-deciduous cornuti in the phallus in male genitalia. In other species the cucullus is triangular or ovoid and there is a bundle of spiculate deciduous cornuti in the phallus. Description. Adult ( Fig. 2 ). Head: Vertex with brown scales, frons brown. Antenna brown. Labial palpus brown, inner margin white; third segment short, porrect, with basal part concealed in the scales of second segment. Thorax: Dorsum and tegula grayish brown. Legs gray, with brown scales on tibiae and tarsi. Forewing length 5.0– 5.5 mm , ground color light brown, scattered with some silvery scales; apex fulvous and falcate; termen concave; costa with seven pairs of silvery strigulae; basal four pairs located from base to about 1/3 of costa; other three pairs confluent with each other and extending to termen, seventh composed of one short streak extending from apex and confluent with fifth and sixth strigulae; a black fascia extending from costal 1/4 toward, but not reaching, dorsum; ocellar patch silvery gray, elongate, outer margin serrate and fulvous; cilia yellowish-brown with brown basal line. Hindwing and cilia gray. Abdomen: Male genitalia ( Fig. 4 ) with uncus rudimentary; socius broadly ovoid, hairy. Valva with cucullus larger than sacculus, with distinct neck; sacculus angle produced into a very small papillary process, setose; cucullus nearly semicircular, hairy, with a slender spine on ventral angle (lost in fig. 4). Phallus broad, tapering distally; vesica with two non-deciduous spiculate cornuti. Holotype . Male , CHINA : Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Wuming County , Damingshan , 29.13˚N, 95.18˚E, 1250 m , 27 May 2011 , L. Yang & Y. Mu , genitalia slide no. ZAH14055. Paratypes . 16♂ , same locality as holotype, 21–29 May 2011 , genitalia slide no. ZAH15059. Distribution. China ( Guangxi ). Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin mastoideus, referring to the sacculus angle produced into a small papillary process. Remarks. The non-deciduous spiculate cornuti in the phallus are first reported in Pseudacroclita .
