Taxonomic notes. Described originally as a species of
Scolioplanes
, it was cited rarely in the literature, under either
Scolioplanes
or
Tomotaenia
. After re-examining the
holotype
,
Cook (1896)
recognized it as a distinct species. It is assigned here to
Strigamia
for the first time (
new combination
) because it shares all major diagnostic features of
Strigamia
. However, it is considered a distinct species only tentatively, because available information is not enough to distinguish it confidently from other species, including
S. epileptica
and
S. fusata
.
Distribution: unknown. The single known specimen is of uncertain provenance, but probably from North
America
(
Attems 1929
;
Mercurio 2010
).
