Barsine gratissima is very similar to the nominate subspecies of B. defecta externally, but can be distinguished from it by the ♂ genitalia which show a shorter basal saccular process (that is longer in B. defecta defecta ), thicker dorsal lobe of distal saccular process (that is narrower in B. defecta defecta ) and 2 nd medial diverticulum of aedeagus vesica being longer and bearing smaller cornuti (in B. defecta defecta the 2 nd medial diverticulum of aedeagus vesica is shorter and bears larger cornuti).
