Remarks. Sanborn (2019a) made Carineta limpida a junior synonym of Carineta fasciculata ( Germar, 1821 ) after locating Germar’s type specimen. As a result, the species is no longer an available representative of the Uruguay cicada fauna and the species is removed from the faunal list with previously identified specimens included in the discussion for Carineta fasciculata . The holotype female is deposited in the Fundación Miguel Lillo, Tucumán , Argentina and the allotype male ( Uruguay specimen) and a paratype female are deposited in the the Museo de La Plata Entomological Collection ( Marino de Remes Lenicov et al . 2015 ).
