Host and locality in Australia : Glyciphila fasciata , Australia ( Trouessart 1885c ; Canestrini & Kramer 1899 ; Rainbow 1906 ; Cleland 1922 ). Current name of host : Bar-breasted Honeyeater, Ramsayornis fasciatus (Gould, 1843) ( Passeriformes : Meliphagidae ). Notes: Gaud & Atyeo (1982b , 1996a ) reported that the mites in the genus Protalges are restricted to hummingbirds ( Trochilidae ) which do not occur in Australia , and that identification is here corrected.
