Diagnosis.
Prostomium conical, blunt or pointed anteriorly; peristomium elongate to short, with asetigerous annulations; dorsal tentacles emerging from peristomium or anterior setiger; middle body segments sometimes beaded or moniliform; setae include acicular spines in neuropodia and usually also in notopodia, sometimes forming posterior cinctures; bidentate spines sometimes present in juveniles or occasionally in posterior setigers of adults with unidentate spines in cinctures; pygidium simple lobe, disclike, or with long, terminal cirrus.
