Additional detail of type material —possible syntype : MNHNCL 15917 (1 spm., old number 61.044). Additional remarks . The possible syntype is smaller and the shell banding pattern does not match the illustration of pachystoma given by Philippi (1852a: 44, pl. 12, fig. 5) , though the labels identify it as pachystoma Philippi. However , although bigger than Philippi’s dimensions for crocostoma Philippi, the shape of the shell is a better match and the shell banding pattern is an excellent match. It is possible, therefore, that this shell is a syntype of crocostoma Philippi, perhaps the illustrated specimen.
