Remark
: In Hsiao’s paper, this species is distinguished from
Pseudomictis brevicornis
by body size, characters of legs, and serration on lateral margin of pronotum. The body size of
Pseudomictis distinctus
varies, but on average is larger than that of
Pseudomictis brevicornis
. Males of
Pseudomictis distinctus
are more slender, and
Pseudomictis brevicornis
is a little spindly. The inflated posterior femora of the male and the ampliated posterior tibiae of the female are better distinguishing characters of these two species than are the serrations on the pronotum.
