Redescription.
Body medium or small-sized. Head not exserted above upper level of pronotum. Vertex generally wider than an eye, anterior margin not protruding beyond the eyes in dorsal view, with median carina. Frontal costa and vertex forming triangle shape or rounded together in profile and protruding as arch between antennae. Antennae filiform, inserted between lower margins of eyes. Eyes globose, not exserted above pronotal surface. Pronotum truncate anteriorly, midkeel of pronotum clear, hind process not reaching or reaching or beyond apex of hind femora. Posterior margins of lateral lobes of pronotum with two concavities, posterior angles of lateral lobes of pronotum produced outwards, obliquely truncate behind. Tegmina long oval, apex round. Differential diagnosis.
This genus is similar to
Lamellitettix
Hancock, 1904
but differs from surface of pronotum with only short obsolescent longitudinal wrinkles, not with protuberances on the margins and carenae; vertex seen from in front not sunken between the eyes; robust and strong forms (median carenae between the shoulders and the foreshortened oblique intermediate carenae between the shoulders usually with smaller distinct protuberances; vertex, seen from in front clearly sunken between the eyes, usually with small vertex protuberances in
Lamellitettix
Hancock
). It also similar to
Mazarredia
Bolivar, 1887
, but differs from head not exserted above upper level of pronotum (head distinctly exserted above upper level of pronotum in
Mazarredia
Bolivar
).
