Our study of D . furva indicate that the evenly bent outer branch of the gonostylus is diagnostic, and suggests it is a valid, distinct species. Therefore, we have removed it from the synonymy with D . bifida Zilahi-Sebess which has a gonostylus that is sharply bent at midlength. This species is a boreal Holarctic faunal element.
