Since Paludina Ferussac , 1812 is a junior objective synonym of Viviparus Montfort, 1810, this species is a junior homonym of Vivipara ornata Neumayr in Neumayr & Paul, 1875. Wenz (1928a) recombined the species with Amphimelania and introduced Amphimelania fuchsi as replacement name.
