Description.
Holotype
, male; coloration reddish to blackish brown; eyes reddish;
body structures except median parts of pro-, meso-, metasternum and vltg II–VII densely covered with setigerous tubercles; antennae and legs beset with many erect setae.
Head.
Genae exceeding clypeus, reaching to 2/3 of first antennal segment and leaving a small notch at apex, lateral margins constricted; clypeus raised; antenniferous tubercles dentiform, divergent anteriorly; antennae 1.57 times as long as width across eyes; vertex with wide longitudinal tuberculate ridge flanked by 2 (1+1) small callous pits; rostrum not reaching limits of rostral groove, rostral groove deep and narrow, closed posteriorly.

n.sp.
male genitalic structures. 24–26—pygophore dorsal, lateral and ventral; 27–30— right paramere in different positions; 31–33—phallus in dorsal, lateral and ventral position. Scale bar = 0.2mm for Figs. 27–30.
Pronotum
. More than
3x
as wide as long at midline; anterolateral angles slightly angularly expanded not reaching collar, lateral margins with many setigerous tubercles; disc with a median longitudinal granulate ridge, flanked by 2 (1+1) smooth oval callous depressions and 2 (1+1) lunate granular carinae laterally; posterior margin sinuate.
Mesonotum.
Scutellum distinct, disk with a wide median granulate ridge; anterolateral angles not reaching lateral margins of anteriorly produced wing pads; these oval, lateral margins granulate and elevated; posterior margin convex; suture separating metanotum bisinuate.
Metanotum.
Fused to mtg I, with a triangular median elevation, interrupted posteriorly by a shallow median depression; lateral sclerites sloping toward lateral margins; posterior margin slightly concave.
Abdomen.
Surface granulate, lateral margins slightly rounded with erect setae; tergal disk elevated along midline as high as metanotal elevation; fused mtg II with 2 (1+1) oval elevations depressed at middle; rounded ridge of mtg III–VI with distinct scent gland openings; lateral parts sloping with usual pattern of apodemal impressions; mtg VI narrow, sloping posteriorly; deltg II–VII separated by sutures, surface granulate; tergite VII raised posteriorly for reception of pygophore.
Venter.
Prosternum with median elevation, separated from mesosternum by a suture, posterior borders of propleura with oblique tuberculate carinae, visible from above; meso- and metasternum flattened medially, with shallow longitudinal impression; vltg III–VI with smooth triangular spots medially, flanked by the 1+2+2 pattern of apodemal impressions; mst VII transversely carinate posteriorly; spiracles II–VII ventral, remote from lateral margin, VIII lateral and visible from above.
Genitalic structures
. Pygophore globular, median triangular elevation extending posteriorly (
Figs. 3–5
); ptg VIII small, shorter than pygophore; parameres as in
Figs. 6–8
; phallus as
Figs. 9–11
.
Legs.
Slender, femora moderately inflated, tibiae cylindrical, nearly straight, preapical comb on fore tibia present, claws with thin pulvilli.
Female.
Generally as male but of larger size and more rounded abdomen; tergite VII roundly elevated, ptg VIII triangular, shorter than produced tricuspidate tergite IX+X.
Measurements.
Holotype
male: length 4.5; length / width of head 1.0/1.15; l/w pronotum 0.5/1.6; l/w scutellum 0.4/1.4; length of antennal segment I/II/III/IV = 0.5/0.35/0.5/0.45; ratio length of antennae / width of head 1.57; width of abdomen across tergite IV 2.3. Variation of size in
paratypes
: males 4.2–4.5; females 4.9–5.0.
Etymology:
The specific name refers to the long tergal plate anteriorly produced because of the fusion with mtg II.
Distribution:
So far only recorded from northern
Vietnam
(Catba).
