Distribution and habitat.
Micrablepharus atticolus
is widespread in the Brazilian Cerrado (
Fig 13
), where it is known from the states of
Tocantins
,
Rondônia
,
Mato Grosso
,
Mato Grosso do Sul
,
Goiás
,
Minas Gerais
,
São Paulo
, and in the
Distrito Federal
. In
Amazonia
it occurs in enclaves of open vegetation in southern
Rondônia
and southeastern
Pará
states (
Fig. 13
).
Micrablepharus atticolus
is terrestrial and diurnal, inhabits both dry and seasonally flooded open grasslands, cerrado sensu stricto, and areas disturbed by anthropic activities (Vieira
et al.
2000; Vaz-Silva
et al.
2007; Nogueira
et al.
2009), where it is found mainly on open sandy soil and in
Atta
nests (Rodrigues 1996; Gainsbury& Colli 2003; Valdujo
et al.
2009).
