Transylvania : Rodna Mountains , Ünőkő [peak Ineul], 17 August 1902 , A. de Degen s.n. ( BP 605380 !). Figure 2 . Other original material examined :— ROMANIA . Transylvania : Ineu ( Kühhorn ) [peak Ineul], 2000 m , 26 July 1903 , A. Ade s.n . ( BP 185046 !) ; In cacumine “Omu” [peak Om] Bucsecs [Bucegi Mts.], 2500 m , 27 July 1902 , A. de Degen s.n. ( WU !) ; In alpibus Rodnensibus [Rodna Mts.], Cretz s.n. ( WU !) . Note :—When describing this variety, Deyl noted that plants with long hairy leaves occur on Ineul mountain (Rodna Mountains, peak Ineul), and also on the Retezat and Bucegi Mountains (Carpathians, Romania ):—“ Habitat in alpinis Carpatorum Transsilvanicorum ”. We found only one specimen that has Deyl’s annotation label, which clearly indicates his assignment of it to a newly described variety, i.e. the specimen collected by Jávorka in Ukraine near the town Dragobrat in 1940 ( BP 19516!). However, Deyl did not mention this specimen in „Specimina ut sequuntur vidi” ( Deyl 1946: 137–138 ), which implies that he probably did not study this material while preparing the monograph. Therefore, we did not take it into account for the typification. We found several specimens seen and cited by Deyl (1946: 138) , which were collected on the Carpathians in Romania (Rodna Mts. and Bucegi Mts.), and designate the specimen collected by Degen on peak Ineul on Rodna Mountains as lectotype ( BP 605380), bearing in mind Deyl’s opinion that typical specimens are those from Ineul mountain ( Deyl 1946: 140 ).
