Wolcott (1923) reported it from lights, weeds, coffee leaves, Soanum torvum, and cotton. Wolcott (1936) reported this species to be eaten by yellow warblers, yellow-shouldered blackbirds, and orioles (Aves), Anolis evermanni and A . krugii ( Reptilia : Dactyloidae ). Wolcott (1936) reported it from lights, weeds, Solanum torvum , cotton, orange.
