Ridley 14485 (K barcode K000777155 ; isolectotypes BM, SING (barcode no. SING0234546 )). = Psychotria trichophlebia Merrill (1937: 295) . Type ( lectotype , designated here): INDONESIA . West Borneo , Sungei Raun , 11 Feb 1925 , H. Winkler 1571 (HBG barcode HBG-521120; isolectotypes HBG barcode HBG-521121, NY). Notes: —We only know P. polytricha in Peninsular Malaysia from the type of P. ascendens Ridl. Miquel (1856) indicated that P. laxiflora var. lepidota Korthals (1851: 242) may belong here, but like him, we have not seen any original material so cannot verify the synonymy. Merrill (1954) included P. rufipila Valeton (1909 : t. 291) also, but again we have not seen any original material.
