( Figs 6–18 ) Diagnosis. Related to species that present elongated phallosome and slender side struts, these basally fused and apically clearly differentiated or curved inward ( Fig. 12 ), and U-shaped hypandrium, generally longer than wide. It is more closely related to L. punctipenis Mockford (1996) due to the similarity in the general shape of the phallosome, however, it differs from those in the shape of the epiproct, which in males is vase-shaped. On the other hand, its hypandrium is triangular and the phallosome have external parameres present a short, slender arms and the internal parameres have a pointed shape (see figures 215–217 in Mockford 1996 ). Subgenital plate ( Fig. 17 ) bellshaped, wider at the distal portion, apical lobe wide U-shaped with a small apical middle lobe and thin ends. Male. Color. Head ( Fig. 8 ) dark brown, vertex and postclypeus with darker spots; compound eyes; ocelli hyaline, with ochre centripetal crescents. Thorax brown, with white-cream spots; abdomen white creamy, clunium and hypandrium dark brown ( Fig. 10 ), epiproct and paraprocts ( Figs 9 and 10 ) slightly pigmented. Forelegs pale brown, coxae middle and posterior dark brown, femur brown proximally, white creamy and brown spot distally. Forewings ( Fig. 6 ) with pale brown spots, veins brown, alar margin, subcostal and anal vein punctate, anal cell with dark brown spots, pterostigma with small dark purple spots that extend outside the margin, while retaining the shape, vein m with a dark brown stain in the distal part. Hindwings ( Fig. 7 ) smoked, brown veins and dotted upper alar margin. Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head ( Fig. 8 ): H/MxW: 1.31; compound eyes large, H/D: 1.57; IO/MxW: 0.44. Vertex V–shaped wide, below upper level of compound eyes. Outer cusp of lacinial tips broad, with four denticles; Mx4/Mx2: 1.31. Forewings ( Fig. 6 ): L/W: 2.69. Pterostigma: lp/wp: 3.44, areola postica triangular: al/ah: 1.50. Hindwings ( Fig. 7 ): l/w: 2.71. Phallosome ( Fig. 12 ) with endophallic sclerites formed by a triangular set of pigmented oval platelets and non-pigmented lateral platelets. Hypandrium elongated, U-shaped, broadly rounded apically, with setae as illustrated ( Fig. 11 ). Paraprocts ( Fig. 9 ) with two medial tubercles on its external margin, one membranous and rounded and with setae as illustrated, other triangular, more sclerotized, with serrated edges and rough surface; posterior process paraproct C-shaped, with two-three distal setae and two medial; sensory fields with 34 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct with small spicules, setae and macrosetae, basally widened, narrower distally and sometimes somewhat bilobed ( Fig. 10 ). Measurements. FW: 2925, HW: 2187.5, F: 567.5, T: 1105, t1: 420, t2: 70, t3: 87, ctt1: 19, f1: 625, Mx4: 170, IO: 240, d: 350, D: 452, IO/d: 0.69, PO: 0.77 Female. Color. As in males. Head ( Fig. 15 ) and wings ( Figs 13 and 14 ) clearer than in males. Subgenital plate and gonapophyses brown. Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head ( Fig. 15 ). H/MxW: 1.33; vertex sinuous, slightly emarginate and slightly above the upper level of the compound eyes, these smaller than in males, H/D: 2.37, widely separated, IO/MxW: 0.63. Outer cusp of lacinial tips little wide, with four denticles; Mx4/Mx2: 1.14. Forewings ( Fig. 13 ): L/W: 2.68. Pterostigma: lp/wp: 2.67, areola postica almost as high as wide, angled apically: al/ah: 1.21. Hindwings ( Fig. 14 ): l/w: 2.86. Epiproct ( Fig. 16 ) subtriangular, rounded apically and basal margin almost straight, with abundant setae and macrosetae in the medial zone, few apically. Paraprocts ( Fig. 16 ) subtriangular, with short outer margin, distally with rows of setae and macrosetae; lateroapical area with group of setae; sensory fields with 25 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 17 ) and gonapophyses ( Fig. 18 ) typical to family, with V1 narrow, apically acuminate, V2 distally acuminate, about three times the length of V1, V3 oval, with setae as illustrated.
