Tegenaria anhela was described based on material collected from Karain Cave in Antalya ( Brignoli 1972 ). Later, it was recorded from Mustan Ini Cave, which is located near the type locality ( Brignoli 1978 a ). Although the original description includes informative illustrations, it lacks detailed explanations of the palpal structures. During the examination of our material, we observed a unique structure, which we term the “ embolic spine ” ( Es ; Fig. 7 A ). This structure, the homology of which remains unclear, is situated between the base of the embolus and the conductor, and it has not been reported in any other Tegenaria species to date. Habitus of Tegenaria anhela ( A, B ) and Tegenaria ballarini sp. nov. ( C, D ). A, C females B, D males. Male palp of Tegenaria anhela .
