This species can be distinguished from all other Hymenoepimecis by the combination of the following characters: 1) fore wing hyaline yellowish, with two blackish bands; 2) metasoma black, except tergite I orange; 3) ovipositor 0.9 × as long as hind tibia. Male. Unknown. Distribution. Brazil (Amazonas, Bahia, Pará, Rondônia, Santa Catarina) (Fig. 42). Note. According to De Santis (1980) , H. heteropus was only species of the genus with records for the northern (Amazonas and Pará), northeast (Bahia) and south regions (Santa Catarina). Biological notes.
