Males and females of Strangalia zikani ( Melzer, 1922 ) together with S. fulvicornis , S. melanura and Euryptera unilineatocollis visit flowers of the European chestnut, Castanea sativa Mill. (Fagaceae) in the Serra da Bocaina, São Paulo, Brazil . Most of the specimens examined are orange ( Fig. 14 ), but some possess two transverse black maculae on each elytron ( Fig. 13 ). Geographical distribution. This species occurs from Minas Gerais to Santa Catarina. Specimens examined. Holotype . male, BRAZIL , Minas Gerais: Passa Quatro, without date (J. F. Zikán leg.) (MZSP). The geographical distribution for the remaining 17 species of Strangalia from South America was recorded in Monné et al. (2004) and Monné & Monné (2005) .
