Diagnosis (after Faubel 1983 ): Callioplanidae with tentacular, cerebral and marginal eye-spots. Tentacles reduced to knobs may be present. Pharynx extends anterior to the centre. Male copulatory apparatus with seminal vesicle and penis armed with an elongated tubular stylet. Lang’s vesicle present. Type species: Neostylochus fulvopunctatus Yeri & Kaburaki, 1920 .
